What’s it Like To Volunteer

“I guess the most rewarding part is knowing that my work is appreciated. It is such a simple way of giving back. I see the hearts of the other volunteers and become convicted. I don’t think I have ever met such a selfless group.
It is also so inspiring to see the participants wanting to help and show their gratitude.
I first became involved with the group as a way of saying thank you. Several years ago my son became involved with the youth group. The leaders were so welcoming. I was so impressed by the generosity extended to him that at first I thought it was too good to be true. I know that they watered the seed that God had planted in his heart. “

“You feel like you’re doing something right, helping in any way you can. Sometimes all you need to do is listen to a patient, help them clean a small wound, pray with them. Not focusing on what you can’t do, but on what you can do.”
